Recanova Backup Automation

Recanova Backup Automation is a private operator utility for retaining encrypted backup copies for Recanova HealthOS. It is intended for authorized Recanova administrators, not public registration or patient use.

What the utility does

The utility takes a completed backup already held on an authorized local computer, checks its integrity, encrypts it locally, and uploads the encrypted copy to an approved private Google Drive folder. It checks the uploaded encrypted file against the local encrypted copy. Local backup copies are retained.

The uploader does not itself connect to the application database or create database backups. A separate existing local backup process supplies completed backup files.

Google Drive access

The current Google consent permission allows the utility to see, edit, create and delete all Google Drive files in the consenting account. This permission is broader than the utility's configured folder: the folder restriction is implemented by the utility, not enforced by the OAuth permission.

The configured uploader uses the approved folder to check its privacy, upload encrypted backup files and read them back for verification. It does not automatically delete backups, overwrite conflicting files, or share files publicly. Authorization should be granted only by an approved operator using the designated backup account.

Encryption and operating limits

Backup contents may include confidential personal and health information. Only locally encrypted backup files are uploaded by this utility. Google can still process file names, sizes, timestamps and account or transfer metadata. The recovery key is kept separately from Drive; losing all copies of it can make recovery impossible.

Daily operation depends on the computer being available, the scheduled user session, a completed local backup, working authorization, network access and sufficient storage. An upload verification is not a completed restore test. No uninterrupted backup or successful recovery guarantee is provided.
